We had good and bad dining experience here in Hong Kong. Here are the list of food we've tried in Hong Kong.. Part 1!

Australian Dairy Company 澳洲牛奶公司

To expect long but fast moving queue. Like typical cafe house in Hong Kong, you will be asked to share table. Famous for the scramble egg and some other homely simple meals like macaroni/maggie and breakfast sets. We didn't manage to order scramble egg as our mandarin is not good and ordered the wrong egg and we were rushed by the unfriendly staff so.. We had sunny side up instead. To be honest, we did not enjoy the food at all... And the steamed egg dessert which is highly raved, sadly we stopped after the first mouth. Everything is so normal and I find that my mum can cook it too. Not worth queueing for our opinion. Very rare opinion I guess as most people enjoyed their food even my hongkee friends.

Address: 47 Parkes St, Jordan, Hong Kong
(located beside Hsu Lau Shan and Mak's noodle.)
Chinese Address: 佐敦白加士街47-49號地下
Nearest station: Jordon
Opening Hours: Mon-wed, fri-sun 07:30-23:00
(Closed on Thursday)

Lee Keung Kee North Point Egg Waffle 利強記北角雞蛋仔

"Gai Dan Jai" known as Egglet/Egg Waffle, is an extremely popular street snacks among the local. You can find it in Singapore as well. Chanced upon this stall with many pictures of celebrities and there's queue. So being a typical singaporean, we queued. This is worth it! They make it upon order and it's so hot, soft and delicious. One bite is not enough.

They've a few outlets (there's 1 at Tsim Sha Tsui) but the original store is at North Point
Address: 492 king's road, North Point, Hong Kong
(Hsu Liu Shan is next to the stall)
Opening Hour: Daily 10:00-23:00
Nearest station: North Point

Hsu Lau Shan 许留山

Famous for mango and durian desserts. Love the mango dessert drink, abit sweet but so good. You get to choose toppings like Hashima (it's dried fatty tissues found near the Fallopian tubes of frog, sound very disgusting but that's the truth!) It is basically everywhere in Hong Kong, good to use as landmark.

Check out their website for all store info

Ichiran 一

This is one of the best, BEST ramen in Japan. If you've tried Ippudo and like it, you will definitely adore Ichiran. Sadly it's not available in Singapore, so if you have no chance to go to Japan and happen to go Hong Kong ... Try!

1. Address: Shop F – G, G/F, Lockhart House Block A, 440-446 Jaffe Road, Hong Kong
Nearest Station: Causeway Bay Exit C
Opening Hours: 24 Hours
2. Address: Tsim Sha Tsui
Entrance Hall on G/F & Shop B, Basement Floor, 8 Minden Avenue
Chinese Address: 尖沙咀棉登徑8號地庫B鋪及地下入口大堂
九龍 尖沙咀 棉登徑8號 地庫 B舖 及 地下入口大堂
Opening Hours: 24 Hours
I see I see

Recently opened in Singapore 313 sommerset. Like the strawberry flavour but it's quite expensive. Taste like yogurt smoothie?

There's one in Harbour City mall.

Maxim group
Maxim group holds a chain of restaurants and the popular bakery shop "Meixin." You can find it everywhere in Hong Kong. Really famous and always crowded.

Maxim Dim Sum

This is the traditional kind of Dim Sum restaurant where you'll see trolleys of Dim sum being pushed around. We went to a less crowded branch and the restaurant is huge. Free seating and really fascinating to see how the locals "Yam Cha"- drink tea and eat dim sum with their regular newspaper.
Verdict: Char Siew buns and Chee Cheong Fun is good. The rest is quite substandard but quite a good experience.

M&C Duck

Expected waiting time 1hr and after you get your seats you still have to wait another let say 30-45 mins for the Peking duck to be served.
Verdict: Not the nicest I've tried but it's quite cheap for half a duck and you get free soup. Xiao Long Bao is quite good too.

Pierre Herme

Not available in Singapore and this is the nearest store for us other than Paris. Personally, I prefer Laduree but it's still a lot better than TWG or Bakerzin.

Smile Yogurt

Very pretty and photo worthy but I prefer llao llao/yami yogurt.

Sevva High Tea

As we tried several high teas in Singapore. You can check out our TOP 10 High Tea in Singapore blog post.
This is by far the most expensive and unworthy high tea. Hotel is very luxurious understanding its 6 stars. High tea set looks very fancy and you get to enjoy it with stunning scenery that overview the whole fanancial center and Harbour. We didn't manage to get the indoor seats as it was fully booked. We have to sit outdoor and it's very windy that day, it was during November. My mood was affected, serviettes flying away, tea is cold...The high tea set is priced for two but every dish was only served single. How to share? And... Not very nice. Tea options is very limited and is non refillable too! So I rather go to Ritz Carlton or Landing Point in Fullerton Bay hotel Singapore or even TWG to enjoy my high tea. This is our most honest review. However, they have quite happening night events similar to Ce La Vie.

Tai Cheong

Insane Long queue during the pop up stall in Singapore Takashimaya. There is no queue at all when we were there at Harbour city's bus interchange outlet. Really delicious. I prefer its crust to Portuguese egg tart's crust.

Tam Zai

You will find mostly locals dining here as this is not a tourist recommended place. We were glad to dine here. There've many stores in Hong Kong and open till late night. If you wish to find quick fix or not so hungry, this is the place. Similar to Yong tau foo in Singapore.

TenRen Tea

Was recommended by a Hongkee Friend and this is the best Best Oolong bubble milk tea I've ever tried. It's originated from Taiwan. Expecting Long and fast moving queue at Causeway bay Hansan place's Eslite Book store. Found it at Macau Studio City Hotel/Mong Kong east station and zero queue. There's one day when I ordered this bubble tea 3 times because I really love it. You must only order oolong MILK tea, not signature oolong tea. Must try!

Apparently Macau have nice food too and very scrumptious

Usually all the restaurants that are in the casino itself have good quality food and service. We tried a few when we were at Macau.

Bi Ying @ Studio City Hotel
We had this for breakfast omg

MIAN @ Studio City Hotel
Very delicious Tonkatsu udon and generous serving.

There's also Tenren tea and nice mini Portuguese egg tarts and Macau Pork bun in Studio City. Basically this place have very nice food.

Holiday Inn Cotai
This was at holiday inn however I forgot the name of the restaurant I'm sorry.

Stay tune for part 2!

Food we tried awarded with Michelin Star in 2016

Of course there are plenty of other good food in Singapore. But these restaurants gained recognition by Michelin; some I was very glad and excited and some to disagree. Food is acquired by each individual liking, Michelin's guide is just adknowlegded by anonymous inspectors that have many rating experience and they try the best consumer recommendations after all. You may or may not agree to it. Well but every restaurants in the list definitely prove to be good to be able to stand out from so many food places in Singapore.

Cheng's Gourmet Food Bar

We had an enjoyable dinner at Cheng's Gourmet Food Bar & Bistro BBQ. It is located near NUS at a stretch of eatery shops beside Fei Fei Wan Tan Mee and Al Almann Restaurant. Price is around $18-26 per mains similar to eating at Ps Cafe? Not very cheap. Here are the food we ordered (Price Included).

We have new No. 1 (check out at the bottom of the post)

5. Dazzling cafe
First tried this in the original Taipei store and we've been loving it since then. Taste and the texture of the toast and even service may not be the same since Sg is franchised, but it's still good. Do try the drink Mango Slushie.
